Rombert Stapel
Rombert Stapel is a postdoctoral researcher at the International Institute of Social History (IISH) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He is a medieval historian, and wrote a dissertation on a chronicle of the Teutonic Order, medieval authorship, and cultural exchange between the Low Countries and the Baltic Region.
He specialises in the spatial humanities and the use of GIS in socioeconomic historical research, especially for the Middle Ages and Early Modern Period. In the past he has also published on stylometry and the use of digital methods in manuscript studies.
